Recognizing and Addressing Learning Disabilities at the High School and University Levels

This three day workshop will cover current theory and research regarding learning disabilities and effective instructional practices, with the goal of providing participants with practical knowledge that they can immediately put to work in the classroom or other educational settings. Participants will use case study information to learn how to translate current LD research into practical approaches for recognizing learning differences. Instructional approaches, including strategy instruction, assistive technology applications, universal design for instruction, and executive function coaching methods, will all be covered in depth. Participants will gain practical knowledge and tools to better support students with learning differences in a wide variety of educational contexts.

Day four will be reserved for individual consultations with the instructor.
